Oh goodness my heart is breaking!!
As of 25 minutes ago, A resident and her son here found a baby raccoon (I'll call it Baby) wondering into the street, they flagged down my dad, and when he got there Baby walked (wiggled more like it) right up to him, Mama raccoon no where to be seen. This poor thing is only about the size of a 3 month old kitten, and wont even nibble of crackers or cat food, I don;t know how long I sat there petting him (her?) but the motherly instinct has definitely kicked in. Very friendly and very tired, looking up the local nature center number now to find a safe place for the little cutey!
